Florida, Beach, and Toucan's

"We had a blast the whole weekend on the beach, eating great food, with great company, playing card games, going to church, watching tv, golfing, running, chatting, tanning, and all while still managing to sleep A LOT" :)

Over Labor Day weekend, Tom, Joe, and I went on an adventure to see our dear friends, Amber and Shaun at their lovely and quaint home in Florida!!!  We had a blast the whole weekend on the sandy beaches, eating delicious foods, with the best company, playing old-school card games, going to Amber and Shaun's rockin' church, watching (too much? lol) tv, early morning golfing (the boys), running/jogging/yogging? around the base (me), chatting about all of life's little nuances, luxuriating and bronzing in the sun, and all the while still managing to sleep A LOT :)

Anyway, here are a few more details about the weekend.  The boys had an early start Saturday with an 0500 wake-up call to drive to the golf course.  It was military appreciation day at the course and their tee time was marked for 0730.  The course being located more than an hour away made for an early start!

While the boys worked up a sweat on the golf course, the ladies took a relaxing morning with lunch at a little hole in the wall Greek restaurant with pedicures to follow.  Amber and Jess ate lunch with Alex and his wife, Kelly.   Alex is one of the guys in Tom's flight who also happened to be in the Panama City area for the weekend :) For dinner Saturday night sushi was a must because both the Obryants and Whitneys think sushi is a delectable treat.  Joe managed to push down one tempura piece and one california roll though sadly his first encounter with sushi was not love at first sight.  Maybe next time! Sushi is so mental... :)

Highlights of the rest of the weekend include the boys bought goggles to go "snorkeling" but for some reason there was no snorkle.... :) :

Toucan's Sea Food at Mexican Beach was a delight for everyone.  They even had some non-seafood for Joe :) :

Spaghetti Dinner Night was a great success with a lovely candlelit atmosphere:

And Cards (Phase 10) kept us busy at night!

(Okay maybe all of these weren't all the best highlights, but they all had pictures to accompany them hehe)

I know Tom and I can't wait to go visit again :) We are thankful to God each and everyday for the blessings our friends are in our lives, especially ones that are so strong in their faiths :)  Love you guys!!!
